Meta Knight is a recurring anti-hero character in the Kirby franchise, making his debut in Kirby's Adventure. He always wears his metal mask in his series, and usually appears as a rival or a boss Kirby must fight, but on occasions has had to team up with him. He and Captain Vul are captains of the Halberd ship. In certain games, after Meta Knight is defeated, his mask splits into two, revealing a face near identical to Kirby's; the main difference being his blue skin tone. He has made crossover appearances with the Mario franchise, mostly in the Super Smash Bros. series.

SMG4 series[]
In SMG4 series, Meta Knight made his first appearance in SMG4: If Mario Was In... Kirby Star Allies, in the video he appeared captured and tied to a stake as SMG3 has captured and is controlling the Halberd. As Kirby and friends were on the Halberd's deck they discovered that Meta Knight was not the culprit and instead was SMG3 in a Darth Vader costume.

SSGV5 series[]
Being a major character in the SSGV5 series, he's usually seen doing his own thing unless somebody like Kirby or Dedede drags him into some stupid situation, first appearing in Gmod: Kirby's Big Battle. He is also seen to have good swordsman skills, shown in Gmod: K1rby vs M3ta Kn1ght 3p1c B4tt13!, and SSGV5: Kirby goes back to school. He can even shoot blasts from his sword when using the Waxing Crescent mask.
